How to integrate Screentones

Quote :
Step 1

Nab some free screentones from comic sites. Other Manga and comic artists are often willing to share the screentones that they have created. They are posted on the individual artist's page or on comic forums. Save the image to your computer by right-clicking on it and selecting "Save as." Choose your destination folder and name the file.
Step 2

Add the screentone as a pattern into Photoshop. Go to the "File" menu, select "Open" and select your screentone file. Draw a box around the entire image with the "Rectangular Marquee Tool" available on the toolbar. Go to the "Edit" menu and select the "Define Pattern" option. Name the pattern and click "OK." The pattern will now be available for you to use in Photoshop.
Step 3

Use the "Pattern Stamp" tool to use the screentone on an image or in a small space. The "Pattern Stamp" tool is available on the toolbar. When you select "Pattern Stamp" tool, a menu will appear for the tool at the top of the screen just below the main menu bar. Use the drop-down menu next to the pattern to select the screentone you have added.
Step 4

Use the "Pattern Fill" feature to fill backgrounds and large spaces. Go to the "Layer" menu, select "New Fill Layer" and choose "Pattern." You can select a color and opacity for your fill, then click "OK." The next screen will allow you to select your pattern. Choose the screentone you have downloaded and click "OK."
Step 5

Treat the screentone like any other layer. You can add layers over top of the screentone, move it, erase parts of it, and anything else you can do with a Photoshop layer.
